Patient : I have chronic stomach pain and looking for a cause. Appendectomy (lap) a year ago, went back to ER with same pain 2 days later with appendix already removed. This happened about 10 more times over 5 months. I've had ultrasounds, CT scans, colonoscopy, HIDA scans, etc with no answers. (When the pathology of the appendix came back-- they said it really wasn't that bad and probably shouldn't have caused the pain I was in.) No food set it off (I've been tested for celiac's and the results were negative.) Anytime I walk up and down more than a flight of stairs or try and exercise, I have sever stomach pains (disabling). These pains happen on both sides under rib cage and all down the left side of my abdomen across my uterus. Some have suggested IBS, however, my surgeon isn't convinced that is what is wrong.
