Uses of UV lamps

Patient: Is it safe to use sperti lamps (uvb) for vitamin d production during winter months?

Doctor: Yes, in fact, the ultraviolet lamp was developed in 2006 for persons who may not be able to receive needed sunlight expo sure or tolerate Vitamin D supplements. They are also use to treat psoriasis and seasonal affective disorder. An ultraviolet lamp produces UV rays similar to sunlight that helps the body to generate Vitamin D without tanning. Do not forget to use protective eyewear.
