UTI- Metronidazole

Patient

Q: I have a urinary tract infection and I have a prescription of Metronidazole. The pill says "PLIVA 334". I received this medication about 6 months ago because the Gynecologist found some bacteria after my examination. I never took the pills but can I take them now to treat a UTI?
