Vaginal Fungal Infection: To Have Sex or Not?

Patient: Can i have sex if using diflucan

Doctor: To answer your question, one may have sex when taking Diflucan; however, if Diflucan is being used for treatment of vagi nal fungal infection, I strongly suggest to refrain from sex at least until the infection has been treated. Fungal infections are a common indication for prescribing Diflucan; they may also be sexually transmitted. Although condoms may play a barrier role in its transmission, there is always the possibility that it fluids may seep through, or it may break. I hope this helps.
