Patient : I am 33 weeks pregnant. My boyfriend and I have sex quite often. And the past month or two it always hurts and burns afterwards but it normally subsides by the next day. I was thinking that maybe we just werent being careful enough. Then about 2 and a half weeks ago I started having constant burning and itching. I told my OBGyN and he perscribed me an antibiotic but did no exm. So I took those for a week and finished them. The burning and itching went away for a few days. And then about 4 days ago after having sex with my boyfriend it hurt really bad. It burned, and was alot worse when I used the bathroom. To me it felt like I had been torn. But Im no doctor. I expected the buring to go away within a day or so. But it didnt. And the next day I started getting really sick. I dont know that these two things have any correlation but ive been feeling like I have a fever, my body aches, I have hot and cold flashes, a migraine, ive been restless, back pain, abdominal cramping, and ive been sick to my stomach with loss of appetite. I am aware that some of these are normal pregnancy symptoms, but even those have become far worse the past few days. Since ive been sick and still have had burning I decided to check it out myself. I looked at my vagina in a mirror and I have what looks like sores on my perineum. They are all close together in the same area, and they are red. Most of them also have white around them like they are infected. But it isnt bumps and looks nothing like the pictures I found online of herpes or genital warts. Besides that ive been with the same partner since last year, so I know that I didnt contract anything unless it was from him. And im pretty sure that Ive been tested for STI's at some point in my pregnancy. Probably at one of my first visits withmy obgyn. And i know that ive had seseveral vaginal exams. Anyways the question at this point is what do I do? I do not want to harm my child and id really like to start feeling better. Im asking you because my doctor is out of town for the week and my next appointment isnt for over a week. I have to do something until then. Please help! Thanks.
