Patient :What are these hard masses on the inside of my nose??
Good afternoon. Im a 29 year old female and Im hoping to find out if what I'm experiencing is serious enough to have to be seen by a doctor as I don't currently have insurance and limited income. Thank you in advance for reading. A little over a week ago, i noticed a small pimple on the top side of my left nostril. I was not concerned because I've gotten these before, but typically they are on the right side of my septum and usually around the times I have been sick. However, after a couple days I noticed a couple more of these bumps and they were in both nostrils. Now, there are no longer small bumps. They are larger masses that are hard and white in appearance. They are all over the inside of both nostrils and it appears there may be further beyond where I can see. They aren't so much painful as they are uncomfortable. They're not obstructing my breathing but they don't seem to be getting better. Yesterday, my daughter slightly bumped into my nose, not hard at all and it started to bleed. I have never had anything like this in the past and I'm a little worried. I've also noticed that the lymph nodes in my neck are slightly swollen and have been for about a year. It's swelling that comes and goes....sometimes more than other but i can usually always feel them a little. Also the last few days, I've had pain in my lower back, slight numbness in my toes and today a pain in my left knee. I doubt any of it is connected, but giving as much info as I can. In my medical history, I was diagnosed with hepatitis C (1b and untreated currently) in January of 2014. I was diagnosed with bipolar I disorder in mid 2001. In 2012, was hospitalized for pain and numbness in my fingers, wrists and feet and because my ankles were severely swollen. I was released 2 weeks later when my symptoms became less severe, without a diagnosis and a suggestion that it may be rheumatoid arthritis, as it runs in my family. The pain stopped but the numb tingly feeling still happens in my fingertips from time to time. I gave birth to my daughter on march 30, 2014. I was hospitalized in January 2014 for a month for septicemia while pregnant, and after being released I was on iv antibiotics for an additional month. Hope you can help me.I appreciate any and all information or suggestions you may have. Thank you for your time. Desirae Boudreaux
