WHAT DOSE OF OXTBUTININ 5 MG IS MOST EFFECTIVE

Patient

Q: I have a leaky bladder and recently my doctor increased my Oxybutinin chloride 5 mg. from two a day to three a day. How do I know if this is the right dosage?

Symptoms:  Slow urination
Doctor

A:   Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I understand your concern.
Usually twice a dose per day oxybutinin is enough in most of the patients as higher doses can lead to central nervous system side effects.
According to your age you can also prefer other anticholinergic drugs like Tolterodine or darifenacin etc.
So, please discuss these things with your doctor and follow his advice.

Take care
