What happens if loose fragment isn't removed from shoulder?
Patient : My orthopedist has recommended debridement via arthoscopic surgery to remove a loose fragment in my shoulder that apparently resulted from a rotator cuff injury in August, 2011. I want to know what will happen to the loose fragment if I don't have the surgery. Will it continue to cause me pain? Will it cause other damage in my shoulder? According to a recent MRI the rotator cuff damage is healed... just this piece of cartilege continues to cause me occasional pain.
