In simple words, Diabetes means excessive sugar circulating in the body which can not be controlled without proper treatment.
The reasons are:
1. Either the production of the insulin which control the metabolism off sugar is not in sufficient quantities.
2 The body's cells stop responding to Insulin.

Contributory factors:
Obesity
Pancreatitis
no control on diet
Stress and anxiety
Genetic factor

Diabetes can practically cause any sort of complications anywhere in the body.
