What is the cause of knee pain after periods of sitting?
Patient : Hello,
I am 23 years old. For the past four months I have been experiencing a strange, dull ache in my knees when I leave them bent for too long. The sensation seemed to start in the right knee and travelled to the left after a couple of weeks. The ache is worse in my right knee, and my right knee clicks and becomes irritating whenver I bend it too far. This is becoming a hassle, as I can only sit in a chair for so long before I have to stand or sit on the floor with my legs out straight in front of me. Every once and a while, I get a sharp pain in either knee while walking. This usually subsides within a few hours, but can last up to a day and hurts every time I bend the knee while taking a step. Does anyone know what might cause this and what the correctional measures might be?
