When to take tetanus shot after an acute injury?

Patient: I’m 15 and a half years old. Today i hurt my finger with a needle (it got through the nail). I haven’t done the Tetanus (Te) (the vaccine). Can I do it tomorrow? Or i have to do it today? Can it wait? Will I get sick?

Doctor: While you can also take it 24 hours after the injury it is best to take the tetanus shot immediately after injury to pre vent potentially fatal outcomes. The tetanus shot needs to be taken once in 10 years. All the best.
