Patient :Allergy? but to what?
I am allergic to some sort of flavouring or something in red ice lollies and albas oil it brings an allergic reaction on my lips very similar to anaphlaxyis. But in the last 18 months my hands were swelling on a daily basis, with redness, itchiness and tingling, to a point where it hurt so much I couldn't text or write. It would usually go down within and hour to 6 hours. I was admitted to hospital and put on promethazine to help me sleep and it never came back and I completely forgot about it. Two weeks ago I was taken off promethazine for good and ever since my hands have returned to the stages of swelling, itchiness and redness etc but slightly worse. So i'm thinking it's an allergy as (not intentionally) it stopped when I started taking promethazine (an antihistamine) I would like to know what causes this as I haven't changed anything or eaten anything differently and how do I stop it, without having to take antihistamines everyday.
