Patient : Hello, I am 37 years old and pretty active. In July I was dog sitting for a neighbor of my parents, while down near the lake one of the dogs went one direction, my right foot got stuck in the mud and the dog caused me to twist towards the left which my right knee was not prepared to do. Heard a crunch but it was ok to walk on, elevated and iced just in case but there was never any swelling or discoloration so I knew I did not tear a muscle. Welcome to October where the weather finally starts to drop in temp in Georgia. My knee has that annoying feeling on top between Quad and knee cap. My insurance does not kick in until next month. I am afraid to continue doing lifting with my legs at the gym but have stuck with the swimming. Would I be doing more damage or helping myself if i did light lifting with weights until I can see a doctor?
